I have had this problem on several guitars and what i found was the string was
breaking right where it goes through the tremolo block.... I slightly enlarged
the 1st string hole and slightly tapered it on the back side so it wouldn't cut
through where the string is wrapped around the ferrell. bingo no string
breakage.....I have this sneaking feeling that fender is using worn out tooling
on some of the stampings as the edges and diameters of some parts are out of
spec....anyone else out there sense this? eddie k

the guitar.

hey again! the high e string unwinds at the bridge side very quickly
if use the trem arm. it unwinds and goes out of tune after first few
dives and then after every good dive and then just snaps! gibson
strings last a little longer. never tried fender bullets though...
dont matter which guitar i use - it's the same thing on mosrite or jap
jag
anybody know tips to avoid breaking high e? maybe suggest a good brand?
thanx very much!

Ah, thee ole' broken high E string story again. My strats were doin' that until
I took my d string and ran it thru my high e string port and rubbed it back and
forth a few times to dull the sharp edges, (kinda like a makeshift file). Must
be a Fender thing. Works titty now.
