I don't normally like to burn my own CD-Rs but in cases when an
original album is long time out of print and not reissued, I do it
anyway. Here's such a case with the great 1965 "Skaterdater" original
soundtrack album. Although I believe he isn't credited, it's actually
Davie Allan playing. This album predates the "Wild Angels" soundtrack
and I wonder if "Skaterdater Rock" (track 6) is the first appearance of
Allan's trademark fuzz sound. Anyway, the entire "Skaterdater" album
can be downloaded in mp3 format from the link below (near the top of
the website).

Thanks a bunch Klas. I really enjoy the album. Do you know anything
more about the song The Fountain? It seems like I know it very well.
Has it been covered or used in anything else?

Check your Satan's Pilgrims "Around the World" CD...
Ivan
Indeed. One of my first surf albums was Around the World With.
Anybody want a $2 Satan's Pilgrims poster? I have mine hanging on my
wall. They have buttons as well.

Talk about a blast from the past...I remember being about 12 years old and
borrowing this
black-and-white film "Skater Dater" from the local library. My friends and I all
skated, and we
copped some tricks from this movie (this was well before the Dogtown Z-Boys
changed
skating style). Now, I realize this was probably the first surf music I really
listened to...it was
nice to get to hear it again.
Thanks, Klas
