Re: Practice Amp,
I recently bought the Roland MicroCube, and I'm stoked with
it. It's totally transistorized, and has onboard digital
effects: Delay, Phase, Chorus, Flange, Tremelo and Reverb.
It also has a selector knob to let you choose from a
variety of amp emulations : one amp for Accoustic
instruments, there's a Blackface Fender, a Vox, a Marshall
and a Microphone amp.
It's a cool tiny little amp. I don't think I would use it
for recording, but for twanging and pluncking and just
goofing around it's perfect.
I really like that it can be powered by 4 AA batteries:
it's truly mobile! I might go out to Starbucks and show
those coffee dinkers what surf guitar is all about.
Additionally, the Microcube can be powered by the AC
adapter (which is included). Maybe I can hook it up to my
car lighter and play Miserlou while a carload of my pals
goes surfing?!?
Got mine from musician's friend:
i'm stoked,

Yeah, I played through one of these and was really surprised that I
liked it.
Agreed, I wouldn't record with it but for practice it seemed fine.
