Ferenc, and all others,
this cd has been out and available for quite a long time, actually. I
got it from Frank directly, through www.phantomfrank.nl - don't know
whether it's new on musick. but i bought it over 6 months ago, and he
then referred to it as 'his old cd', the phantom four live cd being
the new one
please note that it is NOT a surf cd. - it's his home project while
recovering from RSI after the split up of the treble spankers. Apart
from surf influences, there are a lot of indian and arabic ethnic
influences, even more than with the TS, and some vocal tracks with
ethnic guest singers, which are, imho of course, extremly terrific
awesomely great.... Frank's got a fine nose for who to collaborate
with. There are also lot's of pedal steel guitars (franks new love, i
read somewhere), computer samples and computer drums i think. but it
sounds WAY more natural then that description implies, and a great
album IMHO.
FWIW, I though the "dead man surfin'" screams, as well as the album
and wsong title itslef, are so completly over the top that I
interpreted it as a very humorous sort of self-mocking, for a surf
guitarist recovering from RSI... he was sort of declared dead after
having ghad to give up the TS...
Don't know whteher that interopretation is correct though, I havent
talked to him about it.
