spskins - 30 Nov 2005 23:12:28

We are excited to announce that after weeks of intense negotiations,
that Satan's Pilgrims will be taking the stage once again for a wild
weekend in Seattle and our beloved Portland. Save the dates- March 17
and 18 2006. We are also pleased as punch to announce that The Nebulas
from MA have agreed to be our special guests for both nights. East
Meets West in the battle for "Steel Pier"! Hope to see you there,

Sweet Jesus. This is good news. I missed last year due to finals.(I
had a final early in the morning). Hopefully whatever venue you get
booked at will want surf bands to come back after you play. It is good
to be wanted by Seattle. We were actually the first surf band to play
the Funhouse. Maybe we warmed it up for you guys. Probably not since
it was our first two gigs. Anyways, where are you playing? We will
tell our "fanbase" about the gigs. They are mainly greasers and such
but they are pretty loyal which is odd since we play surf rock and we
are, the majority anyways, are clean cut 20 year olds wearing suits.

Well, what a great announcement to wake up to. We in Portland are
*extremely* excited that it will be worth living until mid-March :)
Wow, Pilrims and Nebulas (playing this time!) in one night. Many thanx
to both bands for putting this together; Can't wait. Hopefully another
Doug Fir show, but we'll be in attendance where ever it happens.

Rick,
Thanks! I guess I left that off-it will be at Doug Fir in Portland.
The venue for Seattle is still being worked on.
We've got some surprises cooked up that we can hopefully pull off with
2 days of practice.
See you then,
Ted

Most Excellent!!! It's about damn time someone played some surf
again in Seattle. The last surf I heard here was The Surf Coasters
at EMP - great show.
Bring more surf to Seattle!
My vote for Seattle venue would be the Tractor Tavern.... just the
right size, and close to home.

Andy,
I'd agree with you, but unfortunately, The Tractor has a
history of cancelling shows, unannounced, if they don't
get massive ticket sales well before the scheduled event.
Sure they refund your geld, but what's the use of paying
ahead and setting that date on your own schedule if they
are just gonna cancel? Well, at least the shows that I
wanted to see, anyway. (Los Straightjackets, Laika and
the Cosmonauts, Jr. Brown, Jack Johnson(!), the list goes
on.....)
There's gotta be a place around here that will take the
bait and give a non-blues/non-folk-rock show a chance,
or at least advertise in a better manner than just one's
website and possibly the Stranger. Hell, even posters
at the Trading Musician would be a help.... at least I
go there other two week or so. <g>

Maybe someone needs to become a Seattle surf promoter...

Ted,
I wanted to make sure that it's 100% sure that you are playing in
Seattle...I intend to try and bite the bullet and go to the 2 shows, but I
wouldn't want to fly to Seattle only to find out the show is a no-go...or
book my flights and find out that the dates have changed ;)
Thanks,
Ran

Ran,
It's 100%. We're just sorting it out between which of the venues we'll
be playing at. The weekend won't change, since the Portland show is
signed off on. The Portland show is at Doug Fir once again and I'll
announce the Seattle venue as soon as it is signed off on.Look forward
to seeing you again.
