hey all
currently i'm playing through a reissue reverb unit and a 66 bassman.. i've
found a mint 77 vibrolux for US$650.. seeing los straits sound amazing through
these, it seems like a vibrolux might be a good thing to have. (well, lighter to
lug around, anyway).
curious if anyone would recommend a cyber-series amp tho..
anyone?
I've got a Cyber-Twin, and would recommend (prefer?) a Vibrolux . . . the CT
is pretty cool, but it's not going to want to make you give up your RI
reverb unit. It is a LOUD amp, but the earlier ones (firmware versions
1.0 - 1.2 or so) are plagued by a tube rattle problem which requires a fix
(unadvertised by Fender). So far, I've been lucky with mine. It sounds
great though - lots of good clean sounds. You just need to spend some time
tweaking the settings a bit.
Still, I often think of selling it and going for an all-tube rig . . . feel
free to contact me off-line if want to hear more about the amp.
