any stations. I kick it all of the time as well. The unit is
incredibly clean as well. I've played several that add some gain but
not mine. And my buddies got it signed by Dave Wronski. Maybe that
added some protective powers.

-i took all the mounting screws out of mine today and found a dime
inside the unit. how it got there i don't know. put all the screws
back tight and it's quit making the noise it was making. so it was
either the dime or something was loose.......it's still picking up an
occasional truck cb radio out on the highway in front of my place, but
that's ok.......carol

WR,

Done, no sweat.

Strangely enough, so do I! <lol> To your list
of variables, I'd add the player's particular
style of picking, and even the kind of pick
used. I've heard players at the local GC
(Guitar Center) bash a tank like it was a
distortion box or something, and walk away
grumbling. Others can sit down to the same
unit, with the same settings, same guitar,
same everthing (maybe except for the pick),
and it's like night and day. I figure it
was the picking style, more than anything
else.

That isn't what I remember at all. I distinctly remember a case
banging it. And it was a Spanish station at first and then it picked
up some Jazz. And I think in the recording I might say, during Boogie
at the Beach, that you dropped a case or if you only tripped over it
that you tripped over it.
I should also point out Eric, who I am responding to and our lead
guitarist, owns a vintage tank. He gets some really good tone out of
it. However, I think he encountered a problem I think John Blair spoke
about having to replace the tank but not the unit.
