I just seem to expect the Straitjackets to come out
wearing big clown feet when they are playing those
DiPinto's. I believe they played their first show
with those things here in Atlanta at the Star Bar.
not only did they look really wierd but they kept
tuning the damn things all night......Seems like the
overall quality of the DP's HAS gotten better
though....ed

I tried a Dipinto at a dealer here in Chicago. This was a few years
ago when I was really into Jazzmasters and thought it would be a
REALLY good backup, and something slightly different. I was really
let down... The paint on the back of the neck got very tacky feeling
after playing for awhile, and it had jumbo frets, modern style
tuners, it felt more like an American Standard Stratocaster than a
cool vintage Fender Off-set. just my 2 cents tho.

I have one and I'm happy with it. Stays in tune, pickups are
strong, unless they're all on at the same time, then they sound
thin.
When I saw Los Straitjackets in Tempe two years ago they were
using the Belvedere model, and they were always tuning up.
