It's super rare to have an over-the-air high school station, but some
have carrier current stations or a super-low power (100 milliwatts)
station. They are almost all "dorm radio" or student activities, just
as the vast majority of college stations are, and like college most
radio stations, their target audience is their own student body (inward
looking, not regional or outward looking).

I did NOT FIGURE "NO ONE WOULD KNOW" this was NOT Oakland
not pleased with that suggestion.....
The station's facilities are in OAKLAND
and the AQUAMARINES were there with me, as was SURFER SPUD of "Drifting Sand"
it's known as "More Public Radio"
see, for example,
I will post here more information in further response as soon as I can speak
with Dan Coleman
this is NOT, I repeat, NOT a "High School" station
here is a dated story of interest:
stay tuned, I'll have more info soon
why you couldn't pick up the show...I don't know...but when we broadcast LIVE
people were calling in,,,,and it was all favorable....

YIKES - I didn't mean to offend, Sorry. If you speak to the station,
I live in North Oakland near Piedmont Avenue. I tried both my home
stereo and car radio. Any info you can find would be great, I really
look forward to hearing the show.

sorry for any misinterpretation on my part
this info is being passed on to my Program Director Dan Coleman, who
will respond directly, or thru me....
it's just that for me, and Dan, and Twang Shebang, it is a BIG deal to
have crossed over to FM
MORE PUBLIC RADIO is also a growing enterprise, and are expected to
add stations over time
to me, it's not the strength of the signal necessarily, but the fact
that surf music can be heard on FM, beyond the internet, is the key
other stations (with high watt and far reach) are giving us the
serious once-over as I write this....so some exteremly exciting
developments are brewing on the horizon
I ain't the 'tech guy' here -- just the dude who puts together a show
trying to give surf musicians an opportunity to be heard by those who
have never heard them before -- it's that simple
don't want to give people the impression that this is something you
want to label a 'high school station' production -- that needs to be
clarified, fleshed out...and I'll wait until Dan sends something to
the Group or me
again, no hard feelings
it's just that I believe with an OBVIOUS PASSION in this music, and
this is my way of giving back to a genre that turns on my soul with a
deep richness, and I do not want my/our efforts cheapened...hey we're
trying our best!
