Third Guitar Parts

unlunf - 30 Oct 2005 16:37:06

John,
Thanks. I knew that Wheels was probably the only biggie for
them, at least chart-wise. <g> My point was, more or less,
that they almost couldn't have earned a 'surf band' name for
themselves - they were here and gone before surf music rose
to smite the Rock World. <lol> That was what I wanted to have
confirmed or refuted, either way.
Also, I'm still wondering why there seems to be nothing at all
on the web about them. Some pretty obscure people/groups can
be found, but not these guys. Whyzat, I wonder??
Oh, and both country and jazz players have been muting chords
for a long, long time. <g> That original rockers did it in
time with the basic beat was probably carried over from the
country artists, however. (Remember, this was during the rise
in popularity of the steel guitar, and playing a sustained
chord behind a steel player was often frowned upon. <lol>)

You need to listen again. The piano plays chords, transitinal bridges
between lead lines, and leads the break only.
