for a few of us east coasters unable to attend the phil tribute a
great evening of music was provided us by los straitjackets. good
venue (iota club, arlington, va), good sound, good crowd. from the
opening 'munsters theme' to big sandy singing 'california sun' and
'hanky panky'--sung in spanish, no less-- to a frantic version of
'tailspin' and closing with 'squad car', which we yelled out for...and
all points in between......it was a fun evening and well worth the 6
hours we drove to see them.......thanks guys from two surf starved
north carolinians....carol
