Phils party

searssilvertone - 24 Oct 2005 17:40:38

Hey I want to Thank everyone involved with the show for a great time.
Particularly Phil Dirt, I spoke with you in person and you know how I feel and
Ferenc for
throwing the party and including us (The Shockwaves) in it, what an undertaking
great
job!! I really enjoyed all the performances that I had an opportunity to check
out the vibe
was great. And all the people that I met over the course of the evening. Plus a
bunch of
friends and old fans (which is amazing because we hadn't played together in 18
years). I didn't want to mention many names because I would forget somebody and
I don't
want to do that. But what a gig and what a great time. I actually have my
guitars out of the
closet and wrote a new song today so I think I have the fever again. The crowd
was
absolutly phenomenal, we partied until 4am with some of you like it was 1986 (or
was that
1999) and enjoyed every freakin second of it.
CHEERS!!!

Joe, I'm so very glad you guys did this show, gald for the honor you
bestowed on me, and gald that you guys could come back to gether after
all these years. Gals also that old wounds are healed and that you all
looked so in the moment, almost as if it was the mid eighties. A few
years, a few pounds on us all, and real warmth. I love all you guys!
Joe, John, Randy and Stretch - you guys started the South Bay surf
scene that existed for a while. Joe, I loved that you guys worked up
"Migration," even though it was a Mallards song (your band after
leaving the Shockwaves). Incidentally, Bill McGlynn told me in an email
this morning... better just to quote: "And, (the) Shockwave(s)...-my
new favorite band. Those guys were too much."
Dirt, forever your fan.

Shockwaves: Also loved the raunchy version of Batman, and ...Say! Which
version of Louie, Louie was that - #185 or 213? I couldn't be sure ;-)

Phil Dirt (dirtkfjc) - 25 Oct 2005 17:33:03

It's "Batwipe" (Batman and Wipeout intertangled), and Stretch will know
what number their recording was back then. There were 923 different
versions played between August 19 and 22nd, 1983, and there must be
dozens more found/released since then.
You can see much of the list on my site > louie louie
and more than you want to know about the song.
Also high on your vacation tour should be
Me Gotta Go...
