Updated tune from Surf Guitar101 comp...

Shawn Martin (drumuitar) - 09 Oct 2005 21:09:07

I finally got around to recording drums for my tune (yeah, it's a
little late, but I just got a Roland pad). Anyway, here's my updated
contribution to the world of Surf :)

Life is short. Play for the music. Wear your heart on your sleeve.
So I wouldn't get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to
keep me in constant touch with my limitations

Very nice Shawn. This was done with "digital" drums?

Thanks. Yeah, it's a Roland SPD-6. I'm still trying to get the feel
of the pads and the quirkyness of them compared to real drums. I
don't have a readily available way to record acoustic drums, and I may
be selling my kit anyway. It's becoming very difficult for me to play
drums and if I can't play them, I don't want them around.

I very much agree! It sounds like a cross between the Penetrators
and Richie Podolor. And the drums sound really natural, remarkably
so. Excellent job, Shawn!
