Brian sorry no info here other than a few So. Cal. bands
cover the Pintor( Outterwave and The Detonators) come to mind. and
I think I've heard maybe 1 band cover Bali Ha'i, but maybe it was
on a cd, I can't remember.
What cd is that Irredescents version on. I would assume I have it,
but would be easier to find if I had the disc title.
thanks and good luck with your quest for info my sun.

The Finks covered Bali Ha'i, I think. Really cool tune, but I doubt
anything is known about either of those bands. I don't know anything,
anyway.

I don't think it was released on CD - just on Diggin' Out LP comp.

Don't you mean, 'my sOn'? :)
Ivan
Jeff,
The Irridescents version of "Bali Ha'i" is on the "Diggin' Out" comp.
I know the Pharos have at least one other song on a Del-Fi comp, but I forget
which one. ("Wild Surf," maybe?)

That's an understatement, I would say. Almost anybody in the Exotica business
added that
standard to his repertoire.
KK
I want to agree with KK about Bali Hai being an
exotica standeard- at last year's Tiki Oasis, I must
have heard Bali Hai performed by 6 different bands.
Usually instrumentally, sometimes with voice,
theramin, or lap steel.
