Apache in Hip Hop

Bong Loard (the_indicators) - 30 Sep 2005 11:43:55

Who was the artist who did the disco Apache video?
Was it Bongo Rock or something like that?
There is one seminal NYC DJ who used beats that version of Apache in
the 70's. The DJ is called CoolHurk and all the Hip Hop guys cite
him as an early influence.
See what you learn when you listen to NPR.
- Bill M.
My question is, did they have a generator or a long extention chord
to plug in their amps (Solid State, of course) while so far out in
the woods.

_Who was the artist who did the disco Apache video?
Apache video: Tommy Seebach.
_Seebach lists high on the Danish Kings of Pop list.
Here's an oddity: Jimmy Eat World - If You Don't remix
this is downloaded from their site
_Was it Bongo Rock or something like that?
"Bongo Rock" was a hit for Preston Epps, and later aped by the
Incredible Bongo Band.
_My question is, did they have a generator or a long extention chord
to plug in their amps (Solid State, of course) while so far out in
the woods.
They just aped playing (the instro version of lip sync). They were
probably just off the parking lot in a park.

Jimmy Eat World: The fact you could get honeys like this in such a
cheezy video gives man around the hope.
