opinions on Dillion Mosrite copy guitar

viktor423 - 09 Dec 2001 09:39:40

I have a Dillion DMG75 Moserite copy. I brought because I couldn't
afford a real one. I'm pretty satisfied with it. It sounds and
looks very close to a mosrite (Ventures Japan '65 type tone). The
pick ups are extremely hot. It has a Bigsby type tremolo which
worked fine after I tinkered with it for a while (most tremolo tuning
problems originate from a badly cut nut, not the trem itself!). The
neck I don't like too much, it's too slim with a wide fretboard and a
very flat radius. I find this uncomfortable as I'm used to a very
fat 'baseball bat' strat neck. The Dillion neck seems very similar
to a Gretsch or Charvel neck, I'm getting used to it though. All in
all, this is a great guitar for the money (under $400) and it blows
away the Univox High-Flyer. I'm interested to hear your opinions. How
does it compare to an actual Mosely Moserite(not the jap re-issue)?

Gretsch and Charvel necks are very, very dissimilar.
