Check out what Los Mel did with his new MIJ Jaguar: added a 3rd pickup and a
mute! To see the transformation, go to his site below, and then click on the
"My Jaguar" link.

Thanks for the heads up, Brian! I've heard that guitar on the Mach IV
release, I guess, but never knew exactly what Mel was playing . . . Mel is
pretty amazing with the mods and tweaks on this guitars.
If anyone hasn't checked out the Mach IV CD "Road Test", I highly recommend
it. Great playing on that one - now I know one of the guitars behind the
sound!

Since we're on the subject, kudos to you (and the rest of the band) for some
fine playing on that CD, Ferenc! It's really one of my favs these days . .
.
Were you playing a stock JM on it, or something else?

Actually, Mel just got the Jaguar a couple of weeks ago. The guitar on Road Test
is his equally bastardize 3 Pickup Jazzmaster.

My Jazzmaster is a stock '63, but it has one of those thingys which attaches to
the whammy and keeps
the string tension taught over the bridge.
The funny thing about the Road Test CD is that it was recorded in the oddest
way. The drums and bass
come from a live gig where we had to keep the volume down so low that the
guitars were inaudible on
the DAT. So then Mel and I overdubbed our guitars onto that. Wacky, but through
some good luck, we
got a real old school sound.
