robi biloderic (bitchboysi) - 20 Sep 2005 11:46:54

hello !!
THE MYSTERY ABOUT MY GUITAR IS SOLVED:
it's late 60' KAWAI !!!
I just got a call from our rhythm guitarist and he said" LOOK WHAT HAVE I JUST
FOUND ON NET.."
’60s Kawai
POSTED BY wietse terpstraA late-'60s cheapo made in the Chinese Kawai factory. A
real looker that plays good, too.
The lead guitarist of the surf band Bitchboys uses one and it sounds awesome.

and yet another victory for google:
"In 1967, the Kawai Corporation purchased the Teisco company. Not one
to ruin a good thing, Kawai continued exporting the Teisco line to
the U.S. (although they did change some designs through the years)
until 1973. Due to the recent popularity in the Teisco name, Kawai
actually produced some limited edition Teisco Spectrum Five models
lately in Japan, although they were not made available to the U.S.
market (source: Michael Wright, Vintage Guitar Magazine)."

I've got the same guitar (with the Kawai pickguard layout, just like
robi's) - in pieces in my study - a project lying around for years
now. main reason it's not a good guitar (this particular one) with a
baseballbat neck and a useless bridge. should pick up the project
tho, it's nearly finish read and it does look cool.
thanks a bunch for posting that Robi - guy posting that on the web
seems to be dutch, btw.
