SG 101 Compilation

Jeff Leites (jeff_leites) - 15 Sep 2005 18:42:48

Hey I just looking over the Cowabunga MB and learned about the SG 101
compilation you guys did. That is so cool! (It's at for any other newbies that don't know about
it). The message over there said you're thinking about volume II.
Anyone know about that. I'd sure like to get in on it.

Jeff:
I agree with you. A SG101 Compilation vol II would be way
cool! I wonder what our fearless leader (Brian Neal) would
have to say about that...I know he put a lot of effort into
Vol 1...
Being part of SG101 vol 1 meant a lot to me...I was
absolutely *stoked* to have my meager contribution in the
"line up" so to speak. And then when the inimitible Phil
Dirt took the time to review the whole shee-bang...well, I
was smiling from ear to ear just like Goober on the Andy
Griffith Show!
I too am looking forward to Vol 2...I have recorded some
recent home studio stuff, and I'm ready to go...

I'm all for it too. If there's another volume, I have an original
ready for it. IMHO, disc 1 was the best out of the 1st volume.
What does Brian think about another volume?

Brian is all for it. Unfortunately Brian is away from home on a
business trip that keeps extending his stay. When Brian gets back he
will kick volume 2 off. Please stand by.

PS I probably won't be around for the chat on Saturday, but you guys
please go ahead (and don't trash the place while I'm gone... :-) )

Does Brian always refer to himself in the third person, like Bob
Dole or Alice Cooper? (: )

No he does not. :-)
I've heard cogent arguments that maybe we should delay volume 2 of the
comp. We shouldn't cheapen the franchise, so to speak, by releasing
another one so soon...quality control and all that. We don't want to
get just B-sides from the same group of folks. Maybe we should wait a
bit longer and see how everyone has progressed after more time has
passed? This was the argument presented to me. How do you all feel
about this? I could go either way.

how about a SG101 ANNUAL (or semi-Annual) comp? that might
make sense...set a time...like May...and let people go for
it...
I hear you about B-Sides from those who already
participated...but, then again...people might have cool new
stuff to share...cool new people might submit too.
I too can go either way...wait and see seems like a good
idea...
