Update on JENSEN "NEO" 12" SPEAKERS

Bruce D (wetreverb) - 12 Sep 2005 22:13:05

I promised an update as soon as I'd had a chance to gig with these
new speakers. Last Sunday Longboard Ranch played two 1-hour sets at
the Orange International Street Fair, on the Polynesian Stage.
I now have two Crate Power Block 150 watt amps - one for backup. I
can carry both amps plus my speaker cab at the same time, with no
adverse impact on my back or fallen arches !!!
We set up and started to play. With my Bandmaster Cab tilted back
on its legs, the bass was so boomy I had to lower the amp bass
control to about 3-4, Still, the sound coming from the speakers was
rich, full-bodied and bassy!! Take THAT JBL and EV !!!
How did we sound? The following email was waiting for me when I
got home! Read On:
"Longboard Ranch!
I went to Orange Circle on a whim today, merely to see if the used
LP store was open. I had no clue there was a street fair going on,
and was really jazzed to hear some surf instrumentals somewhere
nearby. I'm one of those SoCal Natives who, despite never being on a
surfboard, finds surf instrumentals to be the most spiritual music
existing in the SoCal region.
I've listened to plenty of surf bands over the last 10 or so years;
some excellent, most okay to good. I have to confess I was blown
away by the solid music you guys played today---so blown away I
bought your CD & Shirt on the spot----FURTHER blown away to hear how
solid the CD is from first to final track!"
I humbly rest my case.

Let me know when you're playing above the Orange curtain, Bruce. I'll want to
hear them Neo's for myself.
Has anyone else on her tried the Neo's?

You got something against O.C. Marty?
What's wrong, not hot, humid, and smoggy enough down here for you???
Just kidding of course. With Gas prices the way they are, I'm gonna
have to stop travelling to shows so much.
