Is anybody out there actively, or should I say
conciously, archiving the second and third wave? I
don't just mean the music, but posters, t-shirts,
photos, stories, etc.

I think I read not so long ago that a Spanish guy is currently
writing a book on the surf music scene of the 80's and 90's.

I am: just webpages, magazines, news articles and books
though.
Not really a collector of other types of surf music
memorabilia...although I do have a butt-load of unused Dick
Dale guitar picks and a Dickhead t-shit stashed away for
safekeeping!
I also have a few 1st wave "surfing movie" type posters
from around SoCal...
and a beat up tiki mug from the olden days,
