Re: [SurfGuitar101] Jazzmaster toggle buzz AVRI????

John McCorvey (eddiekatcher) - 09 Sep 2005 09:59:22

I ran into a similar problem with my AVRI Jazzmasters.....I determined that when
the switch was actually in the lead position, it was making contact with the
brass shield and shorting out intermittenly. I removed the pick guards on these
guitars and tapped a recess in the brass shield with the round side of a small
ball peen hammer....that fixed the problem, however one of my AVRI's has an
annoying resonant buzz where the lever itself will ring out on certain notes, I
might try a dab of silicon GREASE on the pivot area only and see if that dampens
out the annoying buzz. And hey you CIJ fans......I never had this problem with
my CIJ's and I replaced all their switches with the correct American
parts.......figure.....always tweakin'.....eddie k

Onderwerp: [SurfGuitar101] Jazzmaster toggle buzz
I recently changed the pickguard on my JM and shortly thereafter
started getting some buzzing/crackling on the toggle when I switch
pickups. I re-checked all of the connections and everything seems
okay. Any suggestions??
