hello !!!
since i've been really busy lately, i am sure there are a lot of unread messages
and replies i owe you, especially comments on your kind offeres concerning next
US hollidays. i will do that as soon as possible... but at the moment there is
one really important announcmet to be make...well maybe friends from The
Tubestones have already done that...but in case , here's once again:
THE FIRST SLOVENE SURF FESTIVAL:
in case you don't know what to do next weekend, you're more than welcome to
attend it...BTW as i was told some surf enthusiasts from UK, Austria and Germany
have already booked airplane tickets... COOOOL !
In the beginning of September, precisely on tenth at 4pm (10.9.05., 4pm) will at
»Izbruh bazen« Kranj happen a unique event which has no match far around. Surf
rock and its magic are attracting new and new musical enthusiasts for years now.
It's not an ordinary music, it's a direct handing the experience of the sun,
the beach and of the freedom and in our nice under Alpine country has as years
passed by collected handful of bands which with their originality, creativity
and quality are attracting public from whole wide world.
The first Slovenian surf festival Wave 1. will under united roof merge entire
young family of instrumental from the sixties.
As first will perform The Matching Suits, which were formed as a group only in
the last year, nevertheless they stepped on the way of reverb and clean sounds
with confidence and also with composing their own original songs.
As second on stage will be The Bananas, otherwise young cast is still more and
more recognized and experienced in the world. Greasy peel and Summoning Tsunami
are the titles of demo/promo records with witch stimulating recessions they are
building their reputation in the world.
Eight Bomb will fill the middle with energetically charged rock'a'billy/neobilly
which has no match. The cast is put together of musical cats and they have
accepted Dutch emigrant Lou in their middle, he was previously member of
Hi-dramatic and together they recorded promo cd Perfect Picture. Their
distinction is a big variation recognition, hard guitar sound, softness of
counter-bass, recognizable vocal and impulsive stage performance.
The last but one there will be chance to hear a TubeStone. The oldest of the
groups was given the spark of life only in last year, when members of the cast
finally gained the fourth force, in January recorded their first album
»Aligretosurfati« and in summer performed on grand stage in Rock Otocec. Just as
well for them are coming unimaginable responses and recessions from abroad.
As the last will appear The Bitch Boys, their fame is deposited mostly outside
Europe. Their first album »
in heat« edited in 2001, reaped a line of supreme
recessions and lunched them on top of world variation elite. They are the
pioneers on Slovenian scene, models and ensigns of domestic surf.
The festival won't be short of stalls, food and good music, attended from the
side of DJs before, in-between and after shows.
However, in September the tide will reach up to Kranj!
