Klas Fjellgren (surfites_64) - 05 Sep 2005 03:25:55: Yes, everything borrowed except our guitars (and drumsticks). And it
was different gear for every new show so it was a bit difficult to
get to know it. Sometimes we even hadn't any chance to try it out
before getting up on stage.
In order to avoid problems at customs, we dismounted our guitars and
hid them in our suitcases and then hoped for the best :-D (We had
heard stories about European bands entering the U.S. with guitarcases
and no work permission that had been put directly on a plane back to
Europe).

what were all the stops, places you played etc.
I recognize the Old Ironsides, as that' where I have seen a few
shows when I went op to Bay area/Sacramento.
Did you play Orange County at all?
What were the dates you were here.
I got into surf in Nov. of 96 , musta just missed ya, Damn!!

about 7-8 shows during that time. Besides those pictured (Old
Ironside - Sacramento, Transmission Theater - San Francisco,
Spaceland - Los Angeles (Silverlake) and The Casbah - San Diego), I
can for the moment only recall two other shows (both in the L.A.
area), at The Alligator Lounge and The Doll Hut.

I checked the Daytonas scrapbook and found that I had saved the S.F.
Weekly concert ad from that particular show. It took place on a
Friday, July 19th and we played together with Los Straitjackets and
the Victors.

That's me cursing and kicking myself.
I live about 1 mile away from the Doll Hut in Anahiem.
The First surf show (Insect Surfers Nov. 96 ,and about 50 other surf
shows have been there since then. I head that Lika and the Cosmonauts
played there in the summer of 95 and 96, andf that there weas alot
of good surf shows there and around So. Cal from 92 to 96.
I just keep asking myself, what was I doing, that kept me from
finding out about this stuff before I did.
GRRRRRRRR!!!!!
At least I've made up for lost time, by seeing about a zillion
shows since then. But it can't bring back the shows by bands that
aren't from around here.
Oh well, Too bad I missed ya.
