a song, learn, arrange and record it within a couple of days since it

After my band the Moby Dicks did Undercurrent. We learned that
there was actually a bit more time, and that if any other band
wanted to get in on it, we should refer them.
We tried to talk the Detonators into doin' a track, but they said
they couldn't pull it together before the deadline.
Litle did they know, they could have taken a year plus to do it.;-)
