Re: jag shopping..OLD HAG????

trainwayne - 28 Aug 2005 14:23:03

Geeze Marty! I know you have a few "old hags" of your own that I'd
be happy to take off your hands when you start playing a Jag full
time!!
Actually I did think that the Mosrite and Jaguar kinda complimented
each others sound....They both have their own signature surf sounds
that are different enough to not blend perfectly, especially when
both are playing chords. We try to play the same chords in different
positions when possible to get a "fuller" sound and these two
guitars seem to do that together very well. The biggest difference
that I noticed between the Strat and the Jaguar was how the Jag
sound just seems to "cut thru" and stand out so much more than the
Strat.

factors to consider. I mean a Fiesta Red Jaguar is bright,
beautiful, and says "surf guitar" all over it. Of course a Mosrite
also has some cool surf appeal as well, but when the new Jag comes
into the room, that Mosrite is the old hag.

I'll be darned. I would have thought the Strat would cut through better than the
Jag because the longer scale makes for brighter tone. Then again, if the Hag
pick-ups have more output, that would compensate.
