Re: [SurfGuitar101] Re: still shopping for a jag.....Yep bruce, you're right....

John McCorvey (eddiekatcher) - 27 Aug 2005 18:30:38

Ok, Ok, I admit it, I have and have had MIJ
Jazzmasters and Jags.....I currently still have my
beloved MIJ '95 model. However great, it still has
its faults...I thought the MIJ pickups sounded too
straty and the pots and switches are second rate at
best. I have a set of seymour's pickups but are not
as impressed with them as I am with the AVRI
units...The MIJ guitar was much better set up out of
the box but it too benefitted from old Eddie's TLC.
For the most part, I did the same mods to it as I did
to the AVRI's but not as intense....I did buy a GREAT
used MIJ (white of course) Jag at an Atlanta Guitar
Show several years back it too was about a '95 model
and it......was perfect......It was a better guitar
than the AVRI Jag that I traded off to our old 2nd
guitarist...I got the hots for a 3rd AVRI JM and sold
that really good MIJ Jag.....damn......oh well......If
I only had all the guitars I sold in a moment of
stupidity........ed
