Composition Question

surfbandbill - 08 Dec 2002 04:43:57

Greetings all,
First, thanks to everyone for the tips & tales of Danechos... I'll
keep everyone posted on how that pans out.
I also had a general question. I'm looking to write a new tune for
the band, possibly with a middle-eastern style twist to it.
Something along the lines or Miserlou, or most anything from earlier
Red Elvises.
What I want to know is are there either any chord progressions,
scales, or modes that would be helpful. I know the harmonic minor
often can lend to that sound, any others? Perhaps an older
traditional middle-eastern scale?
Thanks,
SurfBandBill
