I've been fooling with the pickup height on my A/V Jazzmaster trying
to find the sweet spot. I know this can be pretty subjective, but just
outta curiousity, how do y'all adjust your pickup heights? Factory
specs? By ear?

By ear is the best way, It's dependent on the string
type and gauge, how the neck and bridge are set up and
adjusted, your personal touch, and how you set up
your amp......I've tried all sorts of set-ups but
always seem to go back to a lower pick up height...It
seems to give the strings a more pure and focused
tone. Also the amps have a great deal of sensitivity
and EQ adjustments. This allows you to tweek it with
the knobs......Just play around with it, it's super
easy and fun on a Jazzmaster.........check back for
eddie's sure-fire jazzmaster volume and tone
mod.....quick and easy....just keep the coils parallel
to the strings.....eddie k
