Hey - I saw Big Wave Dave's posting on Cow so I am stealing his idea.
Ever notice that little link on the left side of the Yahoo group page
called "Chat"?
Anyone want to do it? How about we meet in the chat room every
Saturday night when Phil Dirt is on? It would be an easy way to
remember...plus we could listen to Phil while chatting. Anyway, I'll
set a reminder and I'll try to be there this Saturday for a trial run.
I'll add a calendar entry for it too. What time does Phil's surf show
start again? I believe it's Phil's Garage at 6:00pm PST...is it 7:00pm
PST for the surf?

Hey Brian,
Unless he recently changed things, Phil's show starts at 6:00pm, and the surf
starts at 7:00pm and ends at 9:00pm.

Well I picked Saturday night to coincide with Phil's show without any
other thought than that. I wasn't thinking about our European friends
either. But I'm open to any other suggestions. I will be there
Saturday night this time to gauge the interest. Please email me off
list if you are interested and you have an alternate time/day
suggestion.

Right on, Bri. I thought it was a worthwhile idea and the 'Bungans seem
pretty passive. This would be a good group to kick it up with.
For me, I will be playing with The Aquamarines on Sat nite, so can't
make the "trial run", but I would suggest making it a default for
SurfGuitar101 and consider another set time as well. On otherwise not so
busy Sat nites I will try and pop online.
There's never enough critical mass anyways, so don't try to appeal to
all. I would suggest people just try popping on at 7-7:15PM PST on Sat
nites to see if others are on, and take it from there. Maybe at least
some American fans may show up, but Euro fans are asleep.
Phil's show would make for good commentary from the gallery of hodads
streaming it in.

Well the chat thing was a lot of fun. We had a grand total of 4 people
at one point! Still it was great listening to Phil Dirt's show and
talking to Dick, Joe, and Ferenc.
The Yahoo chat software is extremely buggy. We kept getting kicked off
and then sometimes you couldn't send, only receive. Lame. Hopefully
they'll get the kinks worked out.
Sorry you couldn't get on Paul...email me off list and we can compare
notes about what went wrong.
