Hi Everybody,
Speaking of Mondawg, anyone familiar with the Surfaris' version from their "Fun
City, USA" LP?
It contains one of my favorite recorded "moments" of all time. During the drum
breakdown toward the end, there is some tape echo manipulation that sounds
EXACTLY like a dog barking...incredible!!! Happens again on the fade too!!
Fun City also contains my fave cover of "Apache"!
Off to find a walker for my reverb tank (does Eric Johnson know about this??)

Funny you should mention Moondog. I saw him often in NYC long ago, as I was a
cab driver there for long stretches form '69 through '74. Had no idea of his
cultural significance, but he certainly looked distinctive. He was in my cab
more than once. A real gentleman, very interesting person to talk to. That was
a great time in New York. Strange and compelling people everywhere. A friendly
guy in full viking mufti was not at all out of place.
