Ha! That's funny. I wonder what Dick would have done with Bob
Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues. Not to go off on a Dick
bashing tangent, because I really love his early albums, and his
early vocal songs. But he did have trouble physically singing, and
now with what Ivan's saying it sounds like, although I'm sure he was
just lazy, that he had trouble mentally remembering vocals.

I agree with Bill that some and maybe even many of his early sixties
vocals were cool. Stuff like Peppermint Man, Sloop John B, or the
songs he did with Gary Usher, well, they're not bad. Not my favorite,
but i can enjoy them. But the stuff he's been singing since then is
really not good.
BTW, on "Pick and Play" (AKA "Gimme Some Lovin'") he introduces it by
saying "I just wrote this one last night!" Oh man, that one really
had me rolling... For one, he DIDN'T WRITE THE SONG! He stole it.
For another, the lyrics are so embarassingly bad that he shouldn't be
boasting that he wrote them in the first place. but I totally believe
he just sat down and came up with them in 10 minutes - their quality
would indicate that....
