There are three surfbands from Slovenia.
TubeStone
TubeStone formed in 1997. Their earliest recordings were 2002 with
Markan (Bitch Boys) sitting in, later eeplaced with their 15 years old
drummer.
Reverb Hunters is their first release, a collection of demos - home
recordings moreorless.
Aligretosurfati (Experimental Surf Instrumental) is their first "real"
production. Many songs from their first CD are captured very well,
produced much like Bitch Boys tracks. The arranging has evolved
significantly, bringing in both the richness of the Bitch Boys' aurally
and lead-rhythm interplay not unlike the more rhythmic Bambi Molesters
(Croatia) tracks. This is a magnificent CD.
I just noticed that I most errantly have not posted the review of this
CD! I'll correct that post haste.
The Bitch Boys
Lots of releases and wide acceptance in the surf community. This is a
splendid band!
The Bananas
Summoning Tsunami (Demo)
This is a splendid set of very powerful surf music that's only lacking
in the drums not as discrete as they could be. Excellent original
dangerous writing and playing
The Bananas Greasy Peel (Demo)
These demos are from Slovenia's high school surf band under guidance
from the Bitch Boys. They need to do a decent recording. A fine set of
songs just waiting for some quality studio time.
