Eddie Katcher was the first guy ever to cover a Penetrators song,
back when he did "The Wind Beneath My Kilt" sometime in the
late '90s. It's very cool that Penetrators drummer Sticks Stechkin
is now actually in Eddie's band. <grin>
Here's hoping that Sticks or Spanky will chime in with a rundown of
the modern surf bands' songs they play. I believe the list would
include tunes by Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, The Treble
Spankers, and Los Straitjackets...

Yep, over the years we've done tunes by
shadowy men
The Space Cossacks
Treble Spankers
Los Straitjackets
Laika and the Cosmonauts,
Man or Astro Man?
Satan's Pilgrims
that's just off the top of my head anyway. If it's a good song, who
cares when it was written?

Aunt's invasion, Bennett Cerf, Reid's Situation, Spy School Graduation,
Having an Average weekend, Good Cop Bad cop, Egypt Texas, Who painted
whistler's mother, their adaptation of Harlem Nocturne - We like SMOASP
very much. They were also about the only instrumental band playing when
we started that we were aware of - other than Man or astro man?

In the Daytonas we did Jon & The Nightriders' "Geronimo". It was a
standard in our live set during the early 90's and also included on our
1993 debut album. I recently discovered an early (around 1990) demo
recording we did of "Geronimo". I actually prefer this crude version
over the more polished one we recorded for the album some years later.
Check out the early demo below:
