Re: [SurfGuitar101] Re: Miserlou-Best Version? Naw.....

John McCorvey (eddiekatcher) - 15 Aug 2005 20:47:41

My money's on Fifield and company, I still remember
taking my mom's '57 Plymouth station wagon over to
Lenox Square to buy "Surfin' with the Astronauts". I
got home put the disk on my dad's Garrard changer
Keyed up Baja and stood there completely stunnded.
Then came Surfing USA and
then........Miserlou.....I've said this for years that
this is the moment that changed my life....All I ever
wanted after that was to play a white Jazzmaster
through a blonde Fender amp in a surf
band......Thanks, Mitch and Sticks.....you guys help
keep this old dude's dream alive.......eddie k

According to the album jacket, it took them 33 takes to get it like
you hear it in the recording.
