There was recent talk of 12-string electrics. Here's one I picked up recently: The downside is the same as the upside.
On the upside, the 25.5" scale makes for brighter tones than the other 24.75"
scale 12-strings BUT the 25.5"scale also adds tension to the action (the
downside). I like the painted headstock.
This one is a newly made CIJ. I don't believe the StratXII was ever U.S. made.
Fender makes 'em every few years when they think they have enough demand to sell
'em. Some report at www.harmony-central.com that previous issues of the Strat
XII had shorter scale necks. I don't know if that is true.
