Re: [SurfGuitar101] Digest Number 1429

Easter Records (easter_records) - 27 Jul 2005 21:55:29

that may be so, but I played the hi-flyer and just couldn't get a clean
sound out of it from any of the amps i have. I really dig the sound of the
sidejack. it's cleaner, but still has that ventures in space sound. i
really like it, just doesn't stay in tune quite as well as my other guitars.
but for 300 bucks, why wouldn't you but it???

I'd go with the Hi-Flyer anyday over the new version of the Sidejack.
I don't think the Sidejack got the contours right.

Each guitar fills a different need. I love my Hi-Flyer for grungy garage
sounds, I can do a wicked "Rumble" with it, but like Pauly says, the Sidejack
has closer to the Ventures Mosrite tone IMHO.
