Does anybody have access or have or can give me the bass tabs or
chords for the following Ventures tunes: Outer Limits and Perfidia.
I have the chords for Outer Limits but would prefer the bass tab. I
also found Perfidia by another band, the bass tab is close but off in
spots.

Below is an e-mail sent to me by the guitarist in our surf band. The response
was for Outer Limits.
Hey, Out of Limits, at least as I play it, is pretty
simple. I follow the ryhthm guitar part through the
intro--Em, G, A, B. You play that through the intro
and the verse...if you're rockin' Agent Orange's
version you throw in a Em, G, A, B, D-E-D-B, before it
comes to the part that leads you into the
riff--GGGGGG-BBBBB.
The only part of the song that differs is the bridge
part and it's an audible key change;
D...F#m...G...A...G...A...Eb...Gm...Ab...Bb...Ab...C7
Fm...Ab...Bb...C...Fm...
I always play the root here, but it's been so long
since I listened to the Markett's original version
that I couldn't tell you what the bass player does.
My band has been covering this (possibly incorrectly)
for over a year now and that's all I hear in my head.
I have played it with the CD and it sounds pretty much on target.
As for Perfidia, I found a tab by another artist, I forget the name off hand.
It was close but off in some parts. So I am, not sure if it is totally
accurate.
You may want to check the following sites for what you want. I have used them
and have found a lot of what I am looking for:
www.tabrobot.com, This site you put the artist or name of the song you are
looking for and gives you the sites that have the bass, guitar or chord tabs. I
have found a lot with this one. this site is for bass oly and has tabs for all genres.
I use this site a lot. This site has a lot of Ventures tabs. Some bass and some
guitar and/or chords. If I can't find the bass tabs but can find the chords, I
try to work off the chords. This site gives you tab site for
almost evrything. You just have to check which site you want. But you may have
to watch, my security center has picked up a virus or two in the past and as far
as I know these are all decent tab sites.
