Hi all,
Wow, yesterday at marketplace of the town where I grew up they had a
few bands playing for the Juli 21 event (Belgiums eqivalent of the 4th
of Juli) And the last band was called "The Whodads", featuring some
very, very good musicians. Tons of horn's, Barritone Sax, Bass Sax,
nifty Slingeland drums, cool reverb drenched guitars, fender Rhodes
and even a vibraphone! Music went from lounge to Mancini over instro
surf to James Bond and back....very nice. The did an exellent version
of "the Wedge" with the horns and all!!! the crowd went wild.
And the gearheads were pleased as well as the stage was full of
vintage stuff including some Jazzmasters. Turned out the "band leader"
was the lead guitar player of "The Revelaires" Belguim's finest Surf
combo imo. This guy really knows how to do it, like you were time
wrapped back to the fifties and sixties. And his band put on quiet a
show....like seeing my cd collection being preformed live.
