Hi and welcome! I too am getting interested in Spaghetti western
stuff. I have only started though:
I have a CD by The Sandblasters called "Cactus Stingwray". Its a
great CD, highly recommended, that has that southwestern desert touch
to it. I also recently picked up The Cadillac Hitmen's first CD "The
Assasin". This has some good stuff on it; one or two tracks are kind
of throw away blues numbers. The 2nd song is a slow sad instrumental
with acoustic & electric guitar; very well done. Phil Dirt liked
their 2nd CD (Tri-State Killing Spree) even more.
I've seen the Hellbenders name bandied about too...I have only heard
their track on the Monster Party 2000 compilation CD.
Pop Records used to sell 2 Spaghetti Western themed compilation
discs. I haven't seen them there in a while though. Anyone know if
they are still available somewhere?
There are sound samples at these sites:
Sandblasters:
Cadillac Hitmen:
p.s.:
(I now own the entire "Man with No Name" Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood
trilogy on DVD....great music by Ennio Morricione. The guitar parts
are few but memorable. I also have the soundtrack CD to "Good Bad &
The Ugly". As an aside, if you are a Mystery Science Theater 3000
(MST3K) fan, they recently reran a truly awful movie called "Danger
Diabolik" or something like that. Morricione did the music too and it
had some great guitar stuff. The robots were rocking out to it.)
Thanks so much for the info Brian,
I'll be looking them up.
I found this site too
thay have some pretty cool stuff there.
