To end this once and for all. Everyone here's favorte surf band
doesn't use reverb. That is right. I am talking about The Strange Dave
Rosenberg band.
I saw Shigeo play through a Yahama Chorus with very little on board
reverb and he was good. Not as good as the previous night with a tank
and Vibroverb. He couldn't kick the tank either.
Everyone makes a great point on the talent vs proper gear argument. It
is a hard argument because mediocre guitarist isn't define. Is Segovia
the technical player and compared to him is Knopfler the mediocre player?
Red, do you play an Artcore?

solid state Roland Chorus amp with the chorus on full gallop and the
great majority of the audience would applaud.

-Marty,
Oh man im dying here LOL!!!!!!
I was going to say something before, but decided not too.
But since you replied and brought me/us up. I'll add a bit.
It always puzzles me when someone has a tank plugged inline to the
amp, but than has it turned down to like 4.
Then I see recently someone was asking how to get a good reverb
sound while recording. Well if people usually set their tanks at
666 or 777 wouldn't turning it up a bit more do the trick? I mean
you got 3 more to go, Unless your tanks goes to 11.
Oh wait that gies me an idea, new Tanks that go to 11.
it'll be all the rage, and I'll cash in all you guitar players.

Jeff,
It's weird, but you can't really turn a reverb tank up much past "7's" without
the sound
going to shit. I know there is never enough reverb to your ears, but there is a
point where
a reverb tank ceases to sound like the crashing surf and begins to sound like a
rotting
swamp!
Gavin
Well if people usually set their tanks at 666 or 777 wouldn't turning it up a

Jeff (bigtikidude)
I hope to meet Jeff and Marty when we head down to California this
summer. They seem like my type of guys.

Jeff, I'll tell you another thing those numbers are good for. I've
noticed my tank loosing some drip lately, hadn't really thought
about it until you guys mentioned 7-7-7 being normal. Thanks for
reminding me that what's now 9-9-9 was once 7-7-7 that!! :).
