Link in Glendale?

Marty Tippens (mctippens) - 17 Jul 2005 20:54:08

Did anyone stick around long enough to see Link last night in Goondale?
He was supposedly there but was taking forever to come on. His band played
endlessly all the time promising between songs that Link was was in the house.
I stayed for 50 minutes of the Linkless band and this after a way too long set
from Nelson (Ricky's pretty-boy twin sons who are on the underside of mediocre).
The hour got late enough such that, if he did come on, he would have had not
more than a half hour to play. I got bored and left. But I am more concerned
than mad. I'm guessing Link was probably not up to playing for any significant
length of time.

I happened to catch Link in seattle (1st time) he came out after 5-6 songs
then played another 5 songs with an encore. All in all it seemed kinda short
for the shows that I'm used to seeing/hearing but but I realized that I hope
I still remember what a guitar is when i'm 76 let alone still be kickin' and
touring. He seemed pretty well exhausted on the encore he stopped a little
ways before actually finishing the song he was on then gracefully dropped
his guitar. I guess I lucked out then for my chance to see him, sorry to
hear it and hope he is doing alright as well.
