Re: 12-string for surf (Burns)

Klas Fjellgren (surfites_64) - 13 Jul 2005 13:35:40

Sorry, I shouldn't have put "Burns" in the topic heading without
changing the rest of it. It's definitely not a "cheapo" guitar
although it's quite inexpensive at 469 euro.

Musician's Friend just marked their remaining Burns Double Six stock
down to $399. I broke down and ordered one last week (after hearing
about Burns USA's demise) for full price. Luckily MF will price match
themselves so I'm getting a credit for the price difference. Still
have to hunt down a case for it.
The Double Six is big, beautiful and sounds lovely. Lots of different
pickup combinations and none of them sound bloated or harsh. This is
my 3rd Burns (I have a Bison & a Steer also) all of them are
excellent.

Zone Fighter (zonefighter) - 23 Jul 2005 08:59:20

I e-mailed ex-Burns USA (now Codel Enterprises) and they have a few
cases (or at least had one) for the Double Six still. I got mine from
them for $95 it arrived very quickly.
Their new contact info...
Codel Enterprises LLC
J3 Guitars
P.O. Box 269 Bethel, CT 06801, USA
Tel: 203-205-0056
They are out at NAMM promoting the new company this week and don't
have someone manning the office full time so you might have to call a
few times to talk with someone.
