Quite cool!
Not to forget Asia. I uploaded The cover and labels from an LP out of Asia that
feature some
Astronauts tracks (main title From Ride The Wild Surf!). The Ventures tunes
could be played
by a japanese band, you, see they didn't mention any artist anywhere on that
record. Some
asian originals, too. It's all played very much surf/reverb-heavy.
Later on in the 60s and early 70s, there were quite a number of good guitar
bands in asia,
just when that scene disappeared anywhere else. You can find records from Hong
Kong,
Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan.

I uploaded a zip file containing a number of 1 minute samples of non US
vintage instros yu might enjoy. I particularly like Beautiful Spring
from China.
The files are .mov and will require Quicktime to listen. You will also
need an unzip application. The zip file is about 22mb, so beware!

Japan had some great guitar instro stuff in the mid 60's, like
Takeshi Terauchi and Yuzo Kayama. Here's "Test Driver" by Takeshi
Terauchi & The Bunnys from their 1966 album "Let's Go Terry!":

What an awesome collection, though now I won't rest until I have the
full versions. Thanks for putting this together.

Speaking of Japanese surf...
Anyone seen this film:
"Seishun dendekedekedeke"
My Japanese is only marginal, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.
Simple story of a teenager who is obsessed with "Pipeline" and starts
a surf band. Dendekedekedeke is onamatapoeia for the muted rapid
picking... cool!
If you have a japanese import video store in your area, its worth
checking out. Sadly it hasn't been released with subtitles to my
knowledge.
