Ice pick sound a problem??????

Jeff (bigtikidude) - 10 Jul 2005 19:28:03

I always dig the hell out of it if somebody can make their
guitar/reverb/amp get that sound. I say it's a plus.
Get that sound, then pull back the volume a tad and you have the
perfect surf sound, In my Opinion of course.

Jeff:
I like the "icepick" sound too...a little screaming guitar
icepick in the earhole never hurt anyone too much, and some
killer low bass to shake up the internal organs and make
you puke, as well as killer drums to make your head explode
from vertigo...it's all good clean reverberated fun in my
book...

ps: last time i saw Dick Dale, it was so loud I heard
utra-sonic sound bullets zipping through my
head...zip-zing-zowie!...dang it was loud...I thought I was
hearing a "dog whistle" or "bat echolocation" signals...I
probably have tinitus for sure after that show.

Hey DP,
Yeah I know it's bad on the ears to be exposed to it, but you
don't get the chills, hair staniding up on your neck, when you have
ear plugs in. My buddy Baja Marty says just leave them open and let
them bleed. I don't know about that much abuse being good. but I
enjoy his enthusiasm.
As for Tinitus(sp?) I think I have a slight case of it from so
many loud shows the past 2 years. I try to have the tv or some music
on in the background to distract me from hearing it.
But I did just dig out my shooting ear plugs and am going to start
taking them with me to shows, but only use them for the really loud
ones. Alot of the shows I see are just middle of the road in Volume.
ttyl,
Jeff(bigtikidude)
p.s. Summers here, when you gonna show up for some shows now,
Desert Boy???
