Planning on being in Florida (south east coast: FT. LAUDERDALE,
MIAMI, WEST PALM BEACH, JUPITER etc) August 14-17
couple of quick questions:
any surf music artists reside in that area, and is there a way to
contact them?
any surf music venues/clubs/bars that anyone can recommend?

i think these days are wrong for you but this is the schedule for the
danny morris band. he plays a lot of surf and if you tell him you're
into it he'll probably play more. i definitely recommend seeing him.
i've been gone from florida so long i don't know of any venues. danny
has a website, it's just dannymorrisband.com i think marathon is
south of miami, but i'm not sure......carol

Freddie,
Don't think this will help much, but:
The Thrusters are/were from Florida. I don't know how surfy they
are/were, but they played with Slacktone and The Balboas.
Voodoo Court is from Florida, but I do not think they are active anymore.

I wish we had something lined up during that period of time,
Freddie, but our next gig isn't until 9/2 in Miami. Otherwise, it
looks like your rolling right into our back yard. If something comes
up between now and then, I'll keep you posted. Also, check out the
Dillengers, who are also from the West Palm Beach area, they're
playing a place called Elwood's in Delray Beach on 8/14.
FYI, on the Balboas, Rich and Cait I think are primarily working on
the Defiant Ones project at the moment, so a Balboas show is
unlikely (I also think he told me the rest of the band resides in
Philly). No word on any live Defiant Ones appearances, though.
