Reminder: Surfin' in the Midwest (Indy & Chicago)

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 05 Jul 2005 12:01:01

This Friday, July 8th @ The Melody Inn in Indianapolis:
The Madeira
The Nebulas
The Surge
More details:
The very next night, Saturday July 9th, in Chicago is the music
night for the Chicago 2005 Exotica event. Here is the schedule:
OUTSIDE*
1pm: The Windy City Islanders
2:15: Penthouse Playboys
3:30: Hula performance by The Barefoot Hawaiian
4:45: Jon Rauhouse with Tommy Connell
6:00: The Neanderthals
7:15: Hula performance by Na' Olapa O Ka La
8:30: The Exotics
10:15: Los Straitjackets w/The World Famous Pontani Sisters and
Kaiser George
INSIDE*
6:30: The Nebulas
8:00: The Madeira
9:15: Haole Kats
Midnight: The Cocktail Preachers
Personal bitch: it looks like The Nebulas & The Madeira are getting
somewhat short-changed by having to compete with some other bands,
and by being relegated to "Inside". Still it's great to see them on
the bill and they will hopefully win some new fans. And who knows,
given how these things are typically run, acts run late or long and
none of these times will likely match reality.
More info:
Is anyone going to either of these? As of this moment, my wife and I
will be at both.

I'd really like to go, but I think I may have White Sox tickets.
The Exotics and the Madeira going on roughly at the same time?? The
Neanderthals are slighty surfy as well. Best of luck to the Nebulas
and Madeira, I'm sure they'll have a decent crowd.
