I scored two NOS RCA 6K6 from ebay for $20 - supposedly a matched
set. I just searched 6K6 a couple of times, and bid 10 for one or 20
for two every time - got lucky within a week. - I really don't see
why at that price you would not at least try it.
Way before, I bought a GE locally here (Netherlands) for 30-ish
I found huge difference with the tube swap, noticable with the cap
mod (I went from 250 to 500, and then back to 390, because 500 was
too dark - i noticed!) but as said, every tank is a different beast.
It is all been said before.
