Howdy SG 101:
Okay, after you stop rolling on the floor laughing at the
subject line of this email...can you answer the following
question?
Can you think of anyone who's main source of income is
derived from playing surf guitar or surf music?
I can only think of one person...that's right, you guessed
it...our good friend, Dick Dale.
Now, I know Dick made some good money in real estate, and
he inherited his parent's SkyRanch out in 29 Palms...and he
makes some dough from licensing his tunes for commercials
and selling CDs and stuff like that...but, I don't think
good old Dick Dale has (or has ever had) the obligatory
"day job"...that dude really makes a living by traveling
around the country (and the world) with the Beast and Jimmy
Dale playing gigs for $$$. It's his own version of Social
Security, I believe.
Anyone else out there making the $$$ playing surf music on
the reverberation unit?...I mean as your primary (or only)
means of income generation?
