Woodies, was Re:Surf - music theory and other geek speak

Ferenc Dobronyi (ferencnd) - 29 Jun 2005 23:18:57

Brian,
Did Rick already answer this? Sorry I have been out of
town for a week, and couldn't keep up with all the
list activity.
The backup band for Rick azat the Surf Battle was
myslef on heavily tanked Jazzmaster Rhythm guitar,
John Hamilton (locally known as King of the Surf
Bass), and Pollo Jeremy on drums. It was a blast
playing those Woodies songs! Lets do it again Rick.

Yes I am Rick Escobar and I was once with a Surf band called The
Woodies. Ferenc and da boys asked me to play with them and I had a
great time. I had such a great time I'm writing Surf again a lot
right now, it's pretty much my main focus. It's been a few years so
it will be interesting to see how my various influnces may sound. I
am currently mixing a project which took over 3 years; it has nothing
to with surf.
It's true I was poking around in here and then slide back into the
abyss of playing Hawaiian Slack key, a baby and home addtion. Other
than fishing it's one of my favorite hobbies.
I'm a confessed music geek and I have been very deep into music
theory for many years, I dig to BS about it.
